- Campylobacter
- Shiga toxin-producing E. coli
- Vibrio
- Yersinia
- Testing of fecal specimens and food samples for these organisms from foodborne/waterborne outbreak events
- Some organisms are identified using molecular techniques
- Isolates involved in outbreaks are analyzed further by PFGE.
